Compliance Legal Analyst

John McCulloch is the Compliance Legal Analyst for Providio MediSolutions and VP of Advanced Marketing for Integrated Financial Settlements.

John's expertise is in the coordination of public benefits with settlements. He serves on the Board of Directors for the National Structured Settlement Trade Association (NSSTA) and formerly served on the ACLI Committee on Structured Settlements. He is a frequent speaker at the NSSTA, bar association, and industry meetings on a wide variety of topics such as Medicare, Medicaid, Workers' Compensation, disability, and the taxation of damages. He is the creator and former Chairman of the NSSTA's Government Benefits Committee, which coordinates public benefits with settlements. John has obtained Private Letter Rulings from the IRS on settlements, authored two books on industry-related strategies, and testified before Congress on issues that include guidance from CMS on Medicare and Medicaid issues.

Prior to joining Providio and IFS, John was the Senior VP of Structured Settlements for Allstate Assignment Company — a subsidiary of Allstate Life Insurance Company. Before that, he was the Regional VP of Structured Settlements for Aegon/Transamerica and a claims supervisor at Safeco Property and Casualty.

John spent eight years in the U.S. Army, serving in the Field Artillery, Cavalry, and Infantry. John holds a JD, an MBA and a BA in Business. He is a Certified Medicare Secondary Payor Professional and has an accounting certification from the Department of Defense. His formal insurance training includes casualty, property, fidelity, reinsurance, and workers' compensation claims — as well as life and health underwriting.
